Dentures older than seven to ten years usually fit gums that have since changed shape; a reline or remake transforms them. A conventional complete denture takes four to six visits over about a month: impressions, bite records, try in, delivery, and refinements. Plan on a few quick adjustment visits in the first weeks, sore spot refinement is normal, expected, and fast.
Remove your denture nightly, brush it with a denture brush, and let it soak while your gums rest; around the clock wear invites irritation and infection. Gums and ridges keep changing for life, so expect periodic relines and replacement roughly every seven to ten years, a loosening denture is remodeling gums, not a personal failing.
