April is a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist at Rancho Bernardo Dental Arts, where she has provided compassionate, patient-centered care for the past 20 years. With more than 25 years of experience in dental hygiene, April is known for her clinical expertise, warm demeanor, and commitment to educating patients on maintaining lifelong oral health.

April earned her B.S. in Combined Science from Santa Clara University and later completed her B.S. in Dental Hygiene at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Following graduation, she served as a Clinical Instructor at USC for two years, mentoring future dental professionals and fostering her passion for patient education.

Her dedication to service extends beyond the clinic; April has volunteered with the Special Olympics while in college, and for the past 10 years has served in several roles on the PTA at her children’s school.

April is proud to continue a family legacy—her father, Dr Gene Velk was a dentist at Rancho Bernardo Dental Arts—and today she enjoys working alongside her husband, Dr. Ghandehari, as part of the practice’s close-knit team. She values building relationships with patients and empowering them with practical, personalized tools to improve their dental health.

Outside the office, April stays active and balanced through group fitness classes, hiking, reading, cooking and wine tasting. She and her husband are also the proud parents of two children.
